After watching politics in America for the past 80 plus years, one truism stands out: The GOP is the party that believes the government does not work and voraciously works to get its members elected to office to prove it.
Gov. Mike Dunleavy has found the easy way to make it so, as demonstrated by his handling of the Division of Public Assistance. Just downsize until there is no one left to do the job, then — voila — nothing works, and his party gets its proof.
This all sets a fine example for Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson.
