Letter: Fireweed Lane plowing

On letter-writer Steven Bridwell’s recent “unrelated” question asking why Anchorage doesn’t plow the sidewalks on Fireweed Lane (ADN, Nov. 20), the reason is that road is maintained by the state and is a lot lower on their priority list than say the Seward Highway or Minnesota Drive. If it were the Municipality’s responsibility, it would be higher on their priority list.

I owned a business on Fireweed Lane for a number of years and had issues with the state not even plowing, leaving the four-lane road with only one and a half lanes each way and berming our parking area in front of the office.

Steven (and others) need to call their legislators and Assembly members to change the assignment.
