In Senate District L we have acceptable candidates. I am strongly supportive of Ken McCarty based on a decade of friendship, his personal and professional experience, and his performance in the Legislature.
He stands out in Juneau in that he quietly keeps his head down and works. He never seems to look for photographers, reporters, lobbyists or mouthy talk show hosts. He seems impervious to political correctness and/or pressure from anyone, including me.
He is rational, principled, courageous and has excellent people skills. I suspect his professional training and experience working with troubled people helps him deal with the many strange personalities in our Legislature — and probably me. We need this strong, caring man representing us. We can do no better.
