Hey, great job, Mayor Dave Bronson! You took a bunch of homeless people, a group not generally known for their tidy camping habits, and dropped them in the woods in the middle of bear habitat. Surprise! Bears came into the camp.
If the mayor had asked any Alaskan, we could have told him this is exactly what would happen. Less than a week into his project, we have four dead bears (two cubs) and another three months to go for more bears to show up, get killed, and maybe hurt someone in the process. There’s good judgement. There’s great leadership.
Yes, Anchorage needs to do something about its homeless problem. But it’s clear that Dave Bronson isn’t intelligent enough to be the one to do it.
