Letter: Abortion amendment

Gov. Mike Dunleavy wants to introduce a constitutional amendment so the people can decide whether to ban, or severely restrict, abortion. Sorry, but the majority doesn’t get to impose its religious beliefs on everyone else — which is exactly what Dunleavy is trying to do. Abortion is a matter that should be handled privately between the woman and her physician.

If Dunleavy doesn’t believe in abortion, he can choose not to have one if he ever gets pregnant. And if Dunleavy is really “pro-life”, which is nothing more than a euphemism for “anti-abortion rights,” maybe he could show more concern and compassion for those who have already been born.
