Letters to the Editor

Letter: Elect Lowenfels

Like many Alaskans, I know Jeff Lowenfels via his long-running garden column, but I’ve also had the privilege of knowing Jeff on other levels.Earlier in life, one of my roommates was an engineer working for Jeff at Yukon Pacific where, under Jeff’s leadership, the company successfully permitted the trans-Alaska oil pipeine by engaging with stakeholders throughout Alaska. Subsequent to that, during his tenure at Lewis & Lowenfels helping inventors and entrepreneurs grow their markets, Jeff entrusted me with a logistics project for one of his clients as part of my graduate studies.

Beyond his incredible resume, which is easily the most extensive of the many congressional candidates, Jeff is an irrepressibly energetic, intelligent and dedicated Alaskan — to know Jeff is to love Jeff.

So when Jeff stepped up to run for Congress and asked if I’d help, it was easy to say yes. Even if I didn’t know any of those other things, he’s the man to free  yard-owners everywhere from raking those darn leaves every fall — what political figure has ever done so much for so many?

Yes, Jeff Lowenfels is one heck of a gardener, and he’ll make a terrific congressman.
