Letter: Gravel pit solution?

I empathize greatly with the Mat-Su residents who will be impacted by Colaska’s gravel pit. We live within shouting distance from Alaska Sand and Gravel’s Sand Lake fill site and suffered from fugitive dust and noise for many years.

As a true Republican, I have a simple solution for Meadow Lakes Subdivision. Establish an assessment district and pay the Alaska Mental Health Trust $1.6 million over the next 20 years not to develop a gravel pit on the 160 acres.
