The Anchorage School Board recently added more money to Superintendent Deena Bishop’s contract. I can understand giving a 2% raise to a dedicated staff member, with the goal of retaining and recruiting quality employees. I hope the board will follow the same spirit in the current and upcoming union negotiations.
Faculty and staff should be rewarded for their hard work, especially at a time when we ask them to take health risks for the public good. Let’s give fair contracts to our school district employees.
