Letter: Incentivize visitor vaccines

A vaccination passport may soon be mandatory for travel within Europe. Alaska could provide an incentive rather than mandate. Travelers in Alaska, upon presenting their COVID-19 vaccination record card, could receive an “Alaska passport” such as a card, sticker, button or certificate. Organizations such as the Alaska Travel Industry Association, tourism operators, restaurants, bars and hotels could hand out the passports and provide the discounts.

If Alaska travel businesses incentivize vaccinations, visitor expenditures will assist our economy.
