Great work, Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority. Got yourself some Arctic National Wildlife Refuge oil and gas leases! What now? Or, more importantly, what happens after the leases expire in 10 years and the agency hasn’t been able to transfer the leases, create any jobs or produce a single drop of oil, and then has to give the leases back with nothing to show for it?
But then I guess when you don’t use your own money, you have nothing to lose, right? This is a poor investment decision with a low probability of return. I invite Alaskans to review and understand the lease terms to see what AIDEA and the state have gotten us into.
