Letters to the Editor

Letter: The presidential process

The electoral college has spoken, the election is over, Joe Biden won. I wish him good luck and success, for the country.

I do have issues with the process and hope these concerns can be addressed before the next round, not to insure or assist one party over the other, but to have both parties agree that a level, transparent playing field is in the best interests of everybody.

We have yet to hear from Special Counsel John Durham, which I think will be informative. Republicans were looking to hear from him before the election in anticipation of a political harvest. They didn’t get it.

We can play our Ouija boards any way we want on this. The coronavirus delayed Durham’s timelines to get the job done, there was resistance and foot dragging in the entrenched Department of Justice to get past Nov. 3, the outcome and its political consequences would have been too much to handle during this election.

Presidents come and go, with great gnashing of teeth on the one side and euphoria on the other. But our nation isn’t made of presidents. It is made by our respect for and adherence to our process.
