Letter: Chain saw safety

I appreciated John Schandelmeier’s article on the heating properties of firewood. Those cutting their own firewood should be aware that a chain saw is a very dangerous tool. If the running chain touches any part of the body, it could cause very serious (if not fatal) injuries.

No one should use a chain saw without proper safety equipment. At a minimum, this should include protective chaps, a helmet with an eye protective mesh mask, safety goggles, noise reduction protective ear muffs and protective boots.

There are many videos covering every aspect of chain saw safety on the internet.
