Letter: A bad deal

Here’s some food for thought about recent letters concerning COVID-19 and its political impact. It seems to me that our leaders on both the local and national levels have a devil’s choice to make.

If, one the one hand, they continue with restrictions, the infection and death rates of COVID-19 will stay relatively low. But people will continue to lose their jobs and businesses. On the other hand: If restrictions are lifted, more people will be able to save their businesses and to go back to work. But more will contract COVID-19 and possibly die from it. So it’s a bad deal no matter which way our leaders go.
