As a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, I’m writing to urge the governor to sign House Bill 96, which keeps rates at the Pioneer and Veterans Homes affordable. Let’s keep faith with patriots who live at the Palmer Veterans Home. After a lifetime of service, the least we can do is keep rates affordable so elderly veterans aren’t forced to leave our community and their families. A fellow veteran and Navy SEAL, Rep. Laddie Shaw, was instrumental in passing this bill, and the governor should sign it.
