I got an email from Rep. Don Young about “outsiders telling us what to do,” in which he complained about JPMorgan Chase refusing to finance new arctic oil and gas development. Does Rep. Young realize that the Gwich’in Steering Council — which publicly opposes him on this — represents Alaska’s Gwich’in people? Is he confused about who his constituents are? If Alaskans have to turn to Outside interests to get his attention, that’s Rep. Young’s failing, not theirs.
