Letter: Supporting impeachment

Rep. Don Young made this statement on impeaching the president:

“The president of the United States, who is also the commander in chief and top law enforcement official in the country, cannot be allowed to assault our system of justice and rule of law without prosecution. We as a society, and as the people’s representatives, would be undermining the Constitution if we did not act. The House of Representatives has a duty to the American people to ensure the moral obligation to uphold the rule of law while faithfully executing the office of the President of the United States … I believe the President needs to face the accountability of his actions before the American people.”

He made it in 1998.
