Jay-Z is responding to critics of his recent controversial trip to Cuba with, what else, a song.
The rapper posted "Open Letter" on his Life + Times blog this morning about the recent visit with wife Beyoncé for their fifth wedding anniversary.
The pair's vacation ignited a firestorm, including a Congressional investigation because it is currently not legal for Americans to directly travel to the embargoed nation, unless under special circumstances.
However, it turns out, their trip was, in fact, authorized by the US Department of Treasury.
Jay-Z addressed the controversy with a nod to President Barack Obama in the single:
"Politicians never did shit for me/ Except lie to me, distort history/ They wanna give me jail time and a fine / Fine, let me commit a real crime / … Obama said, 'Chill, you're going to get me impeached' / You don't need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach." - Jay Z
