Strand Of Oaks, aka Timothy Showalter and his band, will play two shows in Anchorage this March.
The indie folk/rock musican's 2014 release "Heal" has recently earned wide acclaim. It was included on on the "Best Of 2014" list for Paste Magazine: "This is an album that rocks in all kinds of unexpected ways. Surprisingly, given Showalter's rather placid musical past, that's the music's strongest asset."
Anchorage's Monolith Agency, which is bringing up the group, writes "Heal" stands out for its "unabashed Crazy Horse-esque guitar solos, arena rock drum sounds, and layers of '80s-style synths."
Strand of Oaks will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 20-21, Tap Root Public House. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 16. For more, see monolithagency.com/strand-oaks.
