One of Alaska's biggest summer festivals has announced their initial lineup for Salmonfest 2016.
Trampled by Turtles will return to headline at the Kenai Peninsula Fairgrounds in Ninilchik. The bluegrass folk band from Minnesota also headlined the festival -- then called Salmonstock -- in 2013. Other musical acts include The Brothers Comatose, Michael Menert, the Young Dubliners and the Dead Winter Carpenters, with more acts still to be announced.
Salmonfest will take place Aug. 5-7, 2016, with a mix of music, food booths and family-friendly activities. Discounted tickets are on sale now at salmonfestalaska.org. The multiday passes cost $99-$110 until Feb. 15.
