Alaska from Scratch: Pumpkin spice pretzels with white chocolate are a fast, homemade Halloween treat

It's Halloween weekend. To celebrate, I have for you one deliciously easy and highly addictive homemade snack: pumpkin spice pretzels with white chocolate drizzle.

Grab a bag of bite-sized pretzels from your pantry or on your next trip to the store and pull out your trusty jar of pumpkin pie spice. You'll have a salty-sweet, autumn-spiced goody in no time, a very welcome reprieve from all of the store-bought Halloween candy. If you can stop yourself from eating the whole batch, this stores beautifully and makes a great gift.

Also, if you're feeling particularly festive, you can add seasonal sprinkles after you drizzle on the chocolate, for pops of color and whimsy. Trick or treat.

1/4 cup cinnamon sugar

1 cup white chocolate chips

1. Set aside two large baking sheets lined with wax paper.

2. Into a large microwave-safe bowl, pour the pretzels.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, sugar and pumpkin pie spice until well combined. Drizzle mixture over pretzels and toss to coat.

4. Microwave the pretzels for 60 seconds. Stir well and microwave again, another 45 seconds. Pour the pretzels out onto two large baking sheets. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar while still hot.

Melt the white chocolate over low heat or in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring each time, being careful not to burn. Drizzle white chocolate over the pretzels.

5. Allow white chocolate to set and cool completely. Break apart and store in bags or airtight containers. Adapted from Your Cup of Cake.
