BETHEL -- The superintendent of the Lower Kuskokwim School District has resigned after less than two years on the job.
Bethel radio station KYUK reports superintendent Jacob Jensen has been placed on leave until summer by the school board because of his need to be near his family for his wife's health needs.
Jensen's resignation is officially effective June 30.
Dan Walker has been appointed as acting superintendent. The school board also has voted to begin negotiations with Walker to take the position permanently beginning in July.
