Dogblog note: Here's an interesting fundraiser I hadn't heard of before. Check out the calendar item sent in to the paper:
Participate in the first annual Puppy Up! Walk in Anchorage to raise awareness of canine cancer and support the Puppy Up Foundation's efforts to discover the common links between canine and human cancer through comparative oncology research.
Luke Robinson, founder of Puppy Up!, walked 2,000 miles from Austin to Boston with his two dogs to fulfill a promise he made to his dog Malcolm who died from cancer.
Puppy Up! Anchorage is an all-volunteer organization. All funds raised go directly to the Puppy Up Foundation.
When and where: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday (9/13), Abbott Loop Community Park, 8101 Elmore Road.
