A Fairbanks man has been arrested in connection with the death of reality TV personality James "Jimmy" Gojdics last month.
Alaska State Troopers arrested Major Scott Workman, 44, without incident in Fairbanks on Thursday afternoon. Workman, of Fairbanks, was indicted by a grand jury on first-degree murder charges in the death of Gojdics, 69, who was found shot at his Fox home on May 3 and later died of his injuries.
Gojdics appeared in the second season of the National Geographic Channel reality TV show "Ultimate Survival Alaska" as part of the "woodsmen" team. Gojdics, who also spelled his name how it's pronounced (Gaydos), listed his special skills on the National Geographic website as "subsistence living," "making animal calls" and "canoe and raft building," among others. His biography noted he had worked numerous jobs over the years, including as a blacksmith, gold prospector and river and wilderness guide.
He appeared on the show for only one season after an injury kept him from returning, according to the Associated Press.
After his arrest, Workman was taken to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility.
