This weekend in Anchorage: Musical productions, ski and Mardi Gras parties, and plenty of Fur Rondy

The main event in Anchorage this weekend will be the launch of the 88th Fur Rendezvous celebration. That will include the Miners & Trappers Country Jam, the Fireworks Extravaganza, the Fur Rondy Grand Parade and the return of the return of the Melodrama, among other events.

But if you’d rather stay away from the festival’s hustle and bustle, there are plenty of other options. Those include a symphony production, a ski party and a Mardi Gras party.

[Ready to get in the Fur Rondy spirit? Here are the details on the festival’s big events for the next two weeks]
