Husband of missing Anchorage woman charged with murder

A husband who reported his wife missing in early January has been arrested on murder charges after police served a search warrant on his home and vehicle, according to the Anchorage Police Department.

Thomas Skeek Jr. has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as tampering with physical evidence in connection to the disappearance of his wife, 32-year-old Linda Skeek.

The husband called police on Jan. 4 and reported his wife was missing. Thomas Skeek told investigators that Linda Skeek left their home on foot on New Year's Day after they got into a verbal argument, and he hadn't seen her since. Police later said they were considering Linda Skeek's disappearance "suspicious."

On Wednesday, police served a search warrant on the couple's home and a vehicle. Thomas Skeek was charged with murder following the search, police said.

APD spokesperson Renee Oistad said the investigation into the woman's disappearance is ongoing and no additional details could be shared Wednesday.

No court hearings have been set in the case, according to online court records.
