A pilot and a passenger sustained minor injuries when their plane crashed in northeast Alaska Thursday evening.
According to a U.S. Army release, around 5 p.m. a medical evaluation crew was sent in a Blackhawk helicopter to an area near the Colleen River in the Brooks Range. The downed plane was found around 9 p.m.
Soldiers with the U.S. Army Aviation Task Force 1st Battalion Aviation Regiment rescued the civilian pilot and passenger early Thursday night.
The pilot and the passenger were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital just before midnight to be treated for their injuries, the release said.
