A body was found Saturday night in the pond at Anchorage's Cuddy Family Midtown Park, police said.
Police dispatch received a call at 10:30 p.m. from someone who said "they believed saw a person partially submerged and frozen in the pond," police said in an email early Sunday.
Police and fire units responded, with firefighters using chain saws to cut through the ice.
The body is believed to be that of a male, police said.
Police said they had no additional information to release Sunday night.
The park is just south of the Loussac Library in Midtown.
