Humans weren’t the only ones trying to cool off during the recent historic Anchorage heat wave.
On Sunday, a moose took a seat directly in front of a sprinkler on someone’s lawn in the Sand Lake area, and a neighbor took a video. The high temperature hit 85 degrees that day, breaking a record.
“The moose was chilling in our neighbor’s yard across the street from our house on the west side of town,” Bryan Caenepeel said in an email Thursday. He took the video and posted it to the Facebook page for his Anchorage business, Big Swig Tours. It had garnered more than 150,000 shares and 5 million views by Thursday afternoon.
“I never thought it would go viral and be shared around the world,” Caenepeel said.
