Brown bears attempted to open bear-resistant containers during the Bear Aware event at the Alaska Zoo on Sunday.
None of the black or brown bears were able to completely get inside the containers.
The annual event sponsored by the Anchorage Bear Committee and partner groups informed people on how to use bear spray safely, how to keep a bear-aware home or campsite, and what to do if you see a bear.
