Anchorage gets its first 70-degree day of the year

If it felt particularly warm in Anchorage Saturday, that's because it was.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport hit 70 degrees Saturday afternoon for the first time this year. The annual temperature milestone happened at 2:25 p.m.

On average, Anchorage gets its first 70 degree day on June 7. Last year, it hit 70 for the first time May 31.
