Photos: JBER paratroopers jump from Chinook helicopters

Paratroopers from the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, boarded a pair of CH-47 Chinook helicopters with B Company, 1st Battalion, 52nd Aviation Regiment “Sugar Bears” from Fort Wainwright who provided a lift during airborne operations at the Malemute Drop Zone on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson on Tuesday.

“It’s always an adrenaline rush,” said paratrooper Sgt. William Alverson, with Breacher Company, 6th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, while recovering his parachute after making his first-ever jump from a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. Sgt. Alverson had just completed his eighth career jump. “It was the best one so far, and a good landing.”
