An 18-year-old from Wasilla died in a vehicle rollover in the Hatcher Pass area Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said.
Troopers responded at about 8:50 p.m. to the incident on North Palmer Fishhook Road, near mile 16, close to Archangel Road, according to an online statement.
A Toyota Yaris with five occupants drove into the ditch while navigating a turn and rolled over, troopers’ spokesman Tim DeSpain said in an email.
The front passenger, Tiger Lily Petersen, was pronounced dead due to injuries, DeSpain said.
Four other occupants were transported to a hospital with minor injuries, troopers said.
No other vehicles were involved, DeSpain said.
Troopers said they notified Petersen’s next of kin and were continuing to investigate the incident as of Sunday.
