One person died in a three-vehicle collision on the Parks Highway in Wasilla Wednesday morning, police said.
The collision closed the highway for about three hours at the intersection with Alpine Street, Wasilla Police Department spokeswoman Amanda Graham said. First responders were called to the area around 8:15 a.m., she said.
Officers believe a driver in a pickup truck was northbound on the highway and crossed into the southbound lanes, striking an SUV and sedan, Graham said.
The collision injured the pickup driver and one other person, according to police. The other person, who was critically injured, died Wednesday morning, they said.
No additional information was immediately available. An investigation continues.
