A Fairbanks resident was killed Wednesday afternoon in a Parks Highway crash involving a semitruck and a Honda Civic north of Willow.
Troopers responded to the crash at Mile 77.5 around 1:20 p.m., according to an online update from Alaska State Troopers. A Honda Civic was traveling south on the highway and crossed over the center line, striking a semitruck that was northbound, troopers said.
The driver of the Honda, 36-year-old Kyle Moody, was ejected from the vehicle, troopers said, and declared dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not hurt, according to troopers.
The crash temporarily closed the highway, which reopened by about 5 p.m., according to Alaska 511.
Moody’s body will be sent to the State Medical Examiner Office in Anchorage, troopers said, and next of kin have been notified of Moody’s death.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, troopers said.
