A driver was killed and two others were injured in a three-car crash on the Parks Highway early Sunday.
Alaska State Troopers and Wasilla Police responded shortly after midnight to the accident on the Parks Highway near Lamont Lane west of Wasilla, in the Meadow Lakes area. The driver of a white sedan traveling southbound lost control and hit a maroon sedan also traveling southbound, according to the troopers’ report. The maroon sedan crossed into the opposite lane and struck a white hatchback head-on, troopers said.
One of the drivers was declared dead on the scene, troopers said. Another was airlifted to an Anchorage hospital for serious injuries and the third driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
None of the drivers were immediately identified, and troopers provided no other information.
Troopers asked anyone with information about the crash to call troopers’ dispatch at 907-352-5401.
