A man died early Tuesday in a cabin fire north of Fairbanks, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Volunteer firefighters were called to a fire on McGrath Road just north of Flapjack Road just after 2 a.m., troopers wrote in an online statement. When they got there, firefighters found that a secondary cabin on the property was fully engulfed in flames and a man was thought to be inside, troopers said.
After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters found the man’s body inside, troopers said. The state Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing, but troopers said there were no initial indications of foul play.
