The University of Alaska Anchorage will have students back on campus this August for the fall semester, the university said Tuesday.
Classes begin on Aug. 23, and the campus will open to faculty, staff and students Aug. 2, the university said in a statement.
Employees will return to on-campus work later this month or next, and those who are vaccinated won’t have to wear masks, the university said.
The statewide University of Alaska system halted in-person classes in March 2020. They have been held online since.
UAA interim chancellor Bruce Schultz said in a statement that the university expects to receive more than $10 million in federal COVID-19 relief funds, which would be awarded through scholarships and grants to registered students.
