An Anchorage man has entered a guilty plea to murder charges involving the deaths of his wife and teenage daughter in 2019 in an agreement that calls for him to be sentenced to 100 years in prison.
Tylan Fely, now 39, shot and killed his 30-year-old wife, Cecilia Tuuaga, in front of their 13-year-old daughter in their home, three days after they filed a restraining order against him, according to a factual statement included with a plea agreement.
Fely then drove his daughter, with Tuuaga’s body, to purchase a gas can before stopping at an East Anchorage vacant lot and fatally shooting the teenager, the statement said. Fely then set the Chevrolet Tahoe on fire with both bodies inside, it said.
Fely entered guilty pleas to two counts of second-degree murder on Tuesday and is scheduled for sentencing in March. Anchorage Superior Court Judge Jack McKenna will decide whether to accept the plea agreement during that hearing.
The agreement would sentence Fely to 100 years in prison and require that he serve at least 55 years before he becomes eligible for discretionary parole.
Fely was previously convicted of manslaughter for a 2005 shooting. He was sentenced to eight years in prison in that case.
