Man dead after shooting in South Anchorage

A man is dead after a shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning, Anchorage police said.

The Anchorage Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the Taku/Campbell neighborhood at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to an online report. When they arrived at 7830 Old Seward Highway, officers found a man dead at the scene.

As of Sunday afternoon, no one had been arrested in relation to the case, police wrote.

Police officials asked anyone with information about this incident or surveillance footage of the area to call Police Dispatch at 3-1-1.
