Teen pedestrian seriously injured in Delta Junction hit-and-run, troopers say

A teenage boy was seriously injured Saturday night when a vehicle struck him while he was walking in Delta Junction, Alaska State Troopers said.

The 17 year old was walking along Emmaus Road near the intersection of the Alaska Highway when he was struck by the vehicle, troopers wrote in an online statement. Troopers were called to the intersection just before 9:40 p.m.

The vehicle left the area after striking the teen, troopers said.

The teen was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital by ambulance for serious injuries, troopers said.

The investigation is ongoing and troopers asked anyone with information to call the Delta Junction troopers’ post at 907-451-5100.
