Original story:

A body was found along the Parks Highway just north of Willow on Saturday, Alaska State Troopers said Monday.

Little information was immediately available about the death, but troopers said in an online report that they are investigating it as a homicide.

“The remains appear to be that of an adult female,” troopers wrote. “A tentative identification has been made but positive identification, as well as cause and manner of death, is pending autopsy.”

Troopers asked anyone with information about the body to call 907-352-5401.

The department declined to provide additional information about the death Monday.

“Until we know more about the death, investigators are choosing to not release additional details at this time,” troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said by email.
