Update, 11:50 a.m. Saturday: Anchorage police said Saturday that a 5-year-old boy was the homicide victim found dead inside a home on the 4200 block of Reka Drive this week.
His name will not be released because he’s a juvenile, according to police.
“While no charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation is ongoing, police are not currently looking for anyone else involved in this case,” police said.

Police are investigating a homicide in East Anchorage after officers found a body at a local residence, police said in an online alert Wednesday night.
Just before midnight on Tuesday, officers received a call from a person reporting a missing family member, police said. While investigating the report, officers discovered a person dead inside a home on the 4200 block of Reka Drive.
“Officers made observations at the scene which has prompted them to take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the death,” police said in the alert.
The death has now been classified as a homicide and is still under investigation, police said. Investigators have not charged anyone in the death at this time.
“While the circumstances are still under investigation, police do not believe this was a random event,” police said.
Officers in the online alert asked that anyone with surveillance footage of the area or other information regarding the death to call police dispatch at 311.
