Anchorage police identified the man who died Tuesday as 83-year-old John T. Brown. No further details about the circumstances were released Wednesday morning.

A man died early Tuesday at a home in East Anchorage under suspicious circumstances, police said.
Officers were called to the 5900 block of Longoria Circle just after midnight, according to an online statement. The man’s death “appears to be suspicious in nature,” police said, although the investigation is ongoing.
Police did not immediately explain why the death appeared to be suspicious.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
