Anchorage police say the search continues for a man who reportedly threatened a woman with a knife and sexually assaulted her at a park in West Anchorage on Sunday.

Anchorage police are searching for a man who reportedly threatened a woman with a knife and sexually assaulted her at a park in West Anchorage on Sunday.
Police received a report of an assault at 4:40 p.m. at Connors Bog Park, according to an online update from the department. Police wrote that the woman was approached by a man at the Raspberry Road entrance of the park. He pulled out a knife and sexually assaulted the woman, police wrote.
“Citizens in the area witnessed the assault and rendered aid as the suspect fled on foot,” police wrote.
The suspect was last seen running north. Police describe the man as a white or Hispanic adult male in his 20s or 30s, about 160 pounds with a razor or close-shaven haircut. He was last seen wearing a black or dark blue shirt, green boxers and blue jeans, police wrote.
The woman was taken to a treatment facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
As of 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officers had set up a perimeter and were searching for the suspect alongside the K-9 Unit and requested motorists avoid the area.
Connors Bog is a large park that encompasses a popular off-leash dog park. Its trail extends from International Airport Road to Raspberry Road.
