A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was shot early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The man called police around 2:30 a.m. and told them he was in a tent in a wooded area near Minnesota Drive and 100th Avenue, according to a written release from Anchorage Police Department.
Since he had trouble telling the police his exact location, multiple officers, the Anchorage Fire Department and a police dog searched through the large wooded area, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital with what police called life-threatening injuries, including at least one bullet wound to the upper body.
Police did not have anyone in custody on Saturday morning when the statement was sent out. Further details weren’t immediately available.
