Juneau 13-year-olds threatened to shoot people at school, police say

Two middle-school students in Juneau were arrested Thursday after they threatened to carry out a shooting at their school, police said.

Juneau police said the two 13-year-old boys verbally threatened to bring a gun to Floyd Dryden Middle School and shoot people.

The threat was reported to police Wednesday night, and the boys were questioned before school started Thursday, police Lt. Krag Campbell said in an online alert.

“Floyd Dryden is safe and operating normally," Campbell said.

Both teens were charged with second-degree terroristic threatening, a felony. They have been taken to Johnson Youth Center.
