Man found dead in vehicle on 20th Avenue was shot, Anchorage police say

A man found dead in a parked vehicle in the Fairview neighborhood of Anchorage on Sunday morning was shot in the upper body, police said Monday.

They are now investigating the death as a homicide, the Anchorage Police Department said in a statement.

The victim has been identified as Laron Roberts, 36.

Police previously said they were called to the 1000 block of East 20th Avenue at 10:13 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this investigation, including surveillance video, to call APD dispatch at 311 or Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP (561-7867) to remain anonymous.
