APD: Gunfire erupts at Anchorage house party, leaving 2 men with life-threatening injuries

A fight at a party in an East Anchorage townhouse led to gunfire early Saturday, leaving two men with life-threatening injuries, Anchorage police said.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 3400 block of East 42nd Avenue, near Dale Street and north of Tudor Road, at around 3 a.m., police said in an alert.

A fight between a group of people had broken out, said police spokesman MJ Thim, and "gun violence was used to address it."

Two men were shot multiple times in both the upper and lower bodies, Thim said.

Several people had been questioned, but no arrests had been made, Thim said.

"We know there are more people out there that know exactly what happened," Thim said. He asked that anyone at the party who saw the shooting, or who had taken photos during the party, to call police.

Thim asked anyone who might have surveillance video of the area at the time of the shooting, or any other information, to call dispatch at 911, or, to remain anonymous, Anchorage Crime Stoppers at 907-561-STOP or go online.
