Two Soldotna men arrested after alleged DUI, chase and assault on trooper

Two Soldotna men with the same last name were arrested Saturday after a police chase that ended with one of the men assaulting an Alaska State Trooper, according to the agency.

Troopers were called to a house on Tote Road in Soldotna for a report of a drunk driver, according to an online dispatch from the AST.

Two men were leaving the scene when troopers arrived: Lance Tackett, 20, driving and William Tackett, 45, in the passenger seat.

Troopers unsuccessfully tried to pull over the car.

"A short pursuit ensued," troopers wrote.

It ended with the elder Tackett getting out of the car and assaulting responding troopers, according to the dispatch.

William Tackett was arrested and charged with assault, DUI, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
