Police are seeking four suspects who they say robbed an Anchorage gas station Tuesday evening — and fired several rounds from a shotgun in the process.
Four men robbed the Shell gas station at 810 W. Tudor Road, at Arctic Boulevard, around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Anchorage Police Department said in a written statement.
The men pulled up to the gas station in an "older-model Chevy SUV," police wrote. The driver stayed in the car, while the three other men went inside.
Two of the men each grabbed a cash register off the counter. When the store's sole employee walked into the main area from a back room, the third suspect fired one round with a shotgun, police said.
"As the three suspects were backing out of the store with the registers and other merchandise, the third suspect fired off two more rounds," police said.
No customers were in the store at the time. Nobody was hurt, police said.
"There is no physical description for the male suspect driver," police said. "The three suspects who entered the store were described as light-skinned black males all of whom were wearing sunglasses and bandanas over their faces.
"The suspect with the shotgun had a skinny build and was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt and a red beanie," police said. Another one wore a "large winter (parka) with fur trim"; another wore "a gray hoodie over a green T-shirt," police said.
Police asked anyone with information about the suspects or vehicle to call police dispatch's non-emergency line at 311, or to submit an anonymous tip with Anchorage Crime Stoppers.
